Palma Airport is codenamed IATA: PMI. It is located 8 km from the city of the same name and has two main terminals. They officially opened on April 12, 1997, although in fact they appeared in succession and the airport itself has almost a century of history. The airport is also known as Son Sant Joan, named after its architect. San São Joan is the gateway for the millions of tourists (more precisely, about 26 million tourists a year) who visit Mallorca.
